The Ocean Princess is, along with her sister ship the Pacific Princess, a smaller ship within the Princess Cruise ship company. She was built in 1999 and carries 670 passengers and 373 crew. This particular cruise was a seven-day England, Ireland and Scotland itinerary departing and returning to Dover. The ship is 594 feet in length and has similar but modified amenities and features of other Princess ships. There is one main dining room with set early or later seating, a buffet and a specialty restaurant by reservation only. The menus and dishes are almost identical to all other Princess ships. There is also a casino which on this particular cruise was only open one day out of the seven due to UK gaming laws. There was on board entertainment such as a comedian, singers and a ventriloquist. There was limited children and teen activities. There were some sport facilities like the fitness gym, swimming pool, ping pong, a fitness track and shuffleboard. The staterooms with balconies were nicely outfitted. Bedrooms could be set up as two twins or a queen size bed and couches unfolded into a double bed. There was a desk, seating area with ample closet space, a safe, a fridge and a television. The TV featured first run movies, satellite news and documentary programs, as well as shows discussing ports of call, providing the ships route and other on-board information.
